Thursday Evening Time Trials
2005 Results and Reports
Every Thursday from 5th May at 7:30pm(start), from the first Thursday in May to late August, we run a club time trial on a sporting course based on the Crowhurst Road race circuit. The event consists of 2 laps of the 6.25 mile circuit, making 12.5 miles in all. The HQ for the event is the Crowhurst village Hall car park and the start is immediately opposite the car park.
It is traditional, after the race, for some members to retire to the Brickmakers Arms for refreshment and sustenance.
Members of other clubs are welcome to ride. There is a £1 signing on fee.

And so another successful year of our popular evening series racing round the Crowhust circuit has passed. And, inevitably The Old Portly's Doyen of the time trial, Bashers, is Champ once again, and deservedly so. This year however Dangerous Dave has made a comeback and although not really threatening Bashers put together a few creditable rides to take equal second place.
Finishing the series with several blistering rides was one of our newest members, 'Icicle' so called because of his refusal to wear winter gear,(in the winter that is!!). Well done Chris. We will all be watching out for you next season with the fond hope that you will give Bashers fiercer competition.
In third place it was Oz 'the Bard of Coney Hall' who takes the honours. All I can say is...I thought you weren't well!!!!
It was really good to see so many new names and faces on the start sheets and down at the Brickmakers arms after the events this year. A good sign for the future as we all look forward to next seasons evening series . Give yourselves a big pat on the back and three cheers to you all..Hip hip!

Stewards enquiry !!
now , what have we learned from the exercise ?,.....what can we deduce from the fact that although i went faster on the first lap than some0ne else , he managed to go almost 1/2 a minute faster on his second lap ! ( a practic that should be stamped out i say ) and although it was a win for bash , i gained a bigger percentage of the votes and kept my deposit , i am now off to wallow in lake me and spend more time with my wallet and will see you in a couple of weeks
